Isle of Wight October 2022

A glorious week on the Isle of Wight. We only had 1 morning of rain and most afternoons we sat in shirt sleeves on the balcony. The caravan was a bit tired but the view of the Solent and channel was great. The ship tracking app was used daily - some Clipper training boats were out and several cruise ships left each evening all lit up.

We managed to catch an early ferry out so were able to walk from Quarr Abbey to Ryde.

Tennyson Down - favourite walk and we saw a stoat.

Norfolk and Suffolk 2022

We hit the best 2 weeks of Spring 2022 - sunny and warm everyday. It did get chilly some evenings but both cottages were were warm and cosy. The first week was in a converted barn in Trunch, Norfolk. The owner, an ex RAF pilot had converted several buildings and his wife, a landscape gardener has created beautiful gardens. The second week was in Sibton Green, Suffolk within a small complex of 5 cottages which used to house over 30 people, with a chapel attached for their use.

We saw Marsh Harriers, hares, seals, roe deer, muntjac deer and possibly a Chinese Water deer, buzzards and skylarks. We visited RSPB Minsmere and spent a great day there amongst the twitchers and even joined up.

On the way up we visited Kings Lynn and the red cliffs of Hunstanton.
