Our stay in Tokyo had come to the end but it had been great to be together. Jess and Ryan set off early in the pouring rain, headed for Nikko. It wasn't a problem to say goodbye as we were meeting up again in a few days time.
Martin, Kath and I stored our bags in station lockers and went to the Edo Tokyo museum to learn about the history of Tokyo.
A child's suit of armour;
This used to be carried through the city during a festival;
A mock up of an Edo era theatre;
After lunch we said goodbye to Kath who was catching a night bus to Hiroshima after spending the afternoon in the city. Martin and I caught a train up to Utsunomiya. It was a Sunday and from the train we could see loads of picnics going on everywhere there were cherry trees and also people playing baseball which is the most popular sport in Japan.
