A lovely day dawned for our coastal walk. We were given an enormous cooked breakfast by our hosts so were set up for the day. We found a free spot to park by a tram station and walked about a mile to the coastal path following the tram line. We walked for a good 3 hours on the clifftops, passing the Giants Causeway below. Martin had visited before with Clipper and I certainly didn't want to spend £11 each to gain access. On our return we stopped for a drink near the entrance to the Giants Causeway car park and watched the madness of the cars and coaches trying to negotiate the narrow roads.
Wooden Spoon had financed a project to provide equipment for disabled people to gain access to the beach and the sea at Benone Bay so that was our next stop. I walked to the beach and saw our plaque on the building used to house the equipment. No one had booked any out but it was a Thursday. Everyone I spoke to said it was really well used.
We drove on to Londonderry to try to locate our airbnb. It was on a narrow street with cars parked all down both sides with two wheels on the pavement. We found a spot not far from the house and Martin parked the car for me. Two chaps (the hosts) were there to let us in, smoking outside the house. Not a good look. The house was a 3 storey end of terrace with 2 other rooms let out. Our room was fine but the place was not very clean. Cereal and toast was provided, if there was milk or bread. Needless to say my review was not too good.
We walked down to the riverfront and located Sir Robin's yacht and the Clipper boats. There was a river festival running for the weekend with lots of rides and craft and food stalls.
