Last day

We packed up and I left in the car at 8.50 for my 90 minute drive back to the Belfast City airport. I used the in car satnav but it hadn't registered that a motorway was closed. I was driving along happily when I saw signs saying that the motorway was closed at junction 5. I had no idea which junction I was coming off at so was not happy when we were all shifted off the motorway and I had no idea where to go. There was no where to stop and no diversion signs. I was on a deadline to get the car back so started to worry. I was so lucky as I guessed correctly at a few roundabouts and finally picked up signs for the airport so arrived on time. I had a few hours to wait for the flight which was on time, I got a train straight away at Southampton and Jess picked me up from Fleet.

Martin had the day to chill on Sir Robin's boat as they weren't planning to leave until 6am on the Monday morning. He saw a few more of the crew he had helped last year. Later in the morning he could watch the spectacle of the Clipper boats leaving for their final leg back to England. He texted later saying he was in the pub with Sir Robin and Dilip. Their journey to Liverpool was mostly on the engine due to a lack of wind and they missed the lock gates at Liverpool marina by a frustrating 30 minutes.
