The bus stops here are all quite colourful but some are pretty wrecked and have a lot of graffiti - in fact there is a lot of graffiti around.
We noticed a few cars parked here and there with a plastic container on the roof.... so many that I had to Google it. It's to indicate that the vehicle is for sale.
Many people have small metal cups full of green weedy herby stuff with a metal straw. They keep topping the cup up with water and sucking the resultant 'tea' up the metal straw which has a filter on it to stop the herbs coming up. Apparently it's very strong and full of caffeine. Also people don't bat an eyelid about sharing the straw - Martin was offered some this morning but politely declined.
The normal greeting here is a proper kiss on one cheek. Men and women alike. Even as staff came on duty at a cafe they all kissed the Manager in this way.
There are some really ancient cars on the road - but also lots of police roadblocks so I assume their acceptable standard of roadworthiness is fairly low.
Also on both flights so far everyone clapped on landing even though both had been normal without any real turbulence or other problems.
