Resting on a bench we watched a couple dancing. Around the park locals were exercising and school children were practising dance routines or exercising. There were no beggars and all of the green areas in the city are really well maintained.
There are mobile shoe repair chaps wandering around and they saw Martin's crocs which are slightly broken and were very keen to fix them. We were also approached by a Vietnam war veteran who is now a guide and who pooh poohed our plan to walk around the city without using taxis nor guide.
Our next stop was the War Remnants Museum all about the Vietnam war. I hadn't realised just how much opposition to the war there was right around the world - not just in the US and Europe. There were some dreadful photos especially in the room focusing on the use of chemical weapons and, if I had been an American tourist I'd have felt thoroughly ashamed. More dark tourism but very educational.
There is a huge Catholic cathedral here and a lot of architecture influenced by the French colonisation.
These primary school children were outside school practising - drums, trumpets, pom poms and baton twirling. For their age they made a good sound.
