Non Nuoc Stone Carving village & Marble Mountains

At the base of the Marble Mountains there is a village advertised as a traditional stone carving workshop area which I thought Martin would enjoy visiting.  On the way we stopped for lunch and, whilst I was parking my bike a lady came up on her scooter and started to chat to me. She asked where I was from and my name and had I been to the Marble Mountains. Oh when will I learn? Of course she had a shop in the village and wanted me to buy something. She waited whilst we had lunch then tracked us for the whole way there.

Once we arrived she wanted us to park our bikes at her shop but all of the shopkeepers were calling out for us to do this. So the plan is they say they will watch your bike for free and there will be no obligation to buy - haha. We rode on and put the bikes in the official bike park for the grand sum of 12p. Can you believe that when we returned from the Marble Mountains at least an hour later the same lady was waiting at the exit! The 'village' is actually just a load of shops selling marble statues with not a craftsman in sight.
