After the visit to Choeung Ek we spent a leisurely afternoon in the shade. Having had a beer at dinner we were then treated to mojitos by the owner for putting up with the frisbee players. Martin didn't want his so of course I couldn't let it go to waste. We chatted to the players who had spent another day playing in the sun. Its quite an eclectic bunch of people - we met; a texan who works in gas and oil in Singapore; a girl from Manchester who has spent 6 months in Jakarta with the British company which produces Carex and Imperial Leather; a kiwi who lives in Hong Kong and flies for Cathay and a chap from Seattle who lives in Hong Kong and runs a factory in Phnom Penh making gloves for NATO. The phrase which comes to mind after a while talking to them .... work hard, play harder.
This morning we walked to Diamond Island which probably once had fishing communities living on it. Now it is one huge construction site - Chinese investment, building condos and designer shopping malls in a European style. So we didn't stay long. Another afternoon in the shade now before we pack to fly to Vietnam tomorrow.
