Beautiful day

Today we woke to the rare sight of blue skies and sunshine. We drove north to Lahinch beach and had a walk watching the surfers, and amazingly we saw dolphins swimming just beyond the breakers.

Next on our itinerary for today was to walk north along a coast path to the Cliffs of Moher. We found a place to park the car  - very enterprising to create a car park out of your garden just by the start of the trail!

It was a great walk in the super weather with fabulous views. After 2 hours when we got near to the Visitor Centre we started to see a few people, then more and more. Bit of a shock as Ireland has seemed empty up until now. The car park was full of coaches and cars - County Clare council own the site and must take in a fortune as they charge €6 per adult. We ate our lunch and rested our feet before returning along the path soon losing the crowds again.

We are in a hostel in Doolin now for 3 nights, with lots of international travellers to chat to and we are in a small annexe with a shower. It's a lovely, friendly, family run place.

We couldn't waste the lovely evening so we went to the harbour to watch the waves crashing into the shore. 3 walks today - my feet hurt!
