We packed up and left as quietly as possible because Liam was asleep after his nightshift.
Rain again.
We were heading for our next stop on the Dingle Peninsula and, because it wasn't too far we drove right to the end and around on the scenic Slea Head Drive. The scenery was stunning and this is my favourite place so far. I like this quote: "you don't get to Dingle by accident, it is on the way to nothing but itself". Along the drive there were lots of signs for 'pre-historic' sites; huts, forts etc and we had a bit of a giggle about this. One enterprising chap charged €3 to see a fort and hold a lamb!
At the very end of the peninsula we walked around the beautiful Dunmore Head, leaving our car in a small car park which was busy with people coming and going. We were returning down the hill after our short walk when I looked ahead to the car park and noticed something odd about our car. I mentioned it to Martin who said it was a trick of the light. But as we got closer it didn't look right so Martin looked through his camera on a zoom setting. The boot lid was open...and all of our rucksacks, passports etc were in the car. Martin hurried down the rest of the path and thankfully found everything still there. The car was locked so it is a bit of a mystery what happened. We were fortunate that we weren't away long and that the car park was busy with visitors.
Pictures from the day;
We spent a bit of time in Dingle town and walked around the harbour. Fungie the dolphin still hangs around in the sea locally and there are daily tours to see him.
We arrived at our next airbnb to be greeted by a lovely couple; Abe a professional artist and Patricia a retired social worker. We are based in a village called Annascaul which is basically one street with a church, a school and 6 pubs!
