The forecast was for showers today but it started off dry. We went up Torc Mountain - the path up is known locally as cardiac hill as it's straight up rocky steps with no lead in. At the top there were great views of the lake.
We ate lunch in the car during a downpour then started a lakeshore walk. The route wasn't very inspiring and my feet were tired from the morning's exercise so we turned around after a while. We saw 1 bedraggled sheep, 1 walker and some frogspawn which had been laid in a puddle. Maybe the frog knows this is the wettest part of Ireland so the puddle will remain for the duration.
In the evening we went on the hunt again for some live music. In the first bar it was packed with loud Americans and the music wasn't the traditional fiddle style we were looking for. (We call it diddlee dee music.) We tried another bar and this time there was a loud group of Germans. The music was also even further removed from our ideal. On the way home we passed a normal petrol station but to the side of the pumps was an external laundromat - never seen anything like that before!
We had to say goodbye to Liam - he was great company and we have had a laugh with him.
