Kinsale

The forecast wasn't great for later today so we got out early doors and drove half an hour due south to Kinsale to do a proper walk out to a fort then for an 8 mile tramp. However, once we got out onto a headland we were exposed to a strong wind and some rain so we cut off part of the walk and kept to the centre of the headland which was a bit more sheltered. There are still snow drifts and the paths are wet and muddy.

We managed to eat our sandwiches in only light rain then headed back into town to find a cafe as the rain got heavier. Although Kinsale is very much geared towards tourists the cafe we chose seemed to be for locals. As we left after a lovely hot drink Martin said goodbye to the girl behind the counter. The owner called out goodbye from the kitchen and as we walked out everyone at each table said goodbye!
