It was a bit of a tedious drive but eventually we arrived at the end and walked to the beach. We collected a few shells and had just a short walk because the wind was very chilly. We spotted tracks in the sand coming from the sea loch to the river outlet.....the closest we will come to an otter!
Emma had some Badachro gin in the house which I had seen and so on the way back to Badachro I popped into the distillery - run by a chap called Gordon (!) in his garden shed. After a quick tasting I bought a small bottle.
Badachro looked as lovely as it had on the TV.
We returned to the main NC500 route and drove up towards Gairloch where we ate lunch at the harbour watching sand being offloaded. We were also surprised to spot a submarine along the way.
Small black dot is the sub
We arrived in Ullapool and explored the small town - parts were pretty but some not so nice bits.
The Airbnb for our next 3 nights is a house made with straw bales. It is in a beautiful setting up on a hillside outside town. Our host, Marie-Pierre is French but has a French/Scottish accent! There are 2 dogs one of which is very old and ill and has an awful cough.
