The sun was shining - amazing considering everywhere south of Glasgow were experiencing heavy rain and flooding today. We did a 2 hour hike to Ardmore Bay - "a great place to sit and watch the wildlife"........well we sat and even went into the hide but there was nothing.
In the hide
We then drove to Dervaig where there should have been some standing stones but we couldn't locate them. However, it was a beautiful spot to have our lunch.
We kept a look out for otters and eagles without any luck.
Next stop was the Art in Nature trail in Calgary. Not as good as I thought it would be but the gallery had some fantastic pieces of art. We walked the trail then headed down to the superb Calgary bay.
On the way back home we came across some twitchers in a layby who had their binoculars trained up a hill. I pulled in and asked what they were looking at - it was 2 sea eagles in a faraway tree. We waited along with others for them to fly but gave up after 30 minutes. I did have a peek through someones binos so I did see the pair.
They were in a tree right at the top of this hill
Driving is quite challenging on the Isle of Mull. It's all one track, windy roads with blind summits. There are passing places so it's a game who has to reverse. I've hardly got into 4th gear let alone 5th. It's a beautiful island though so it's no real hardship going slow so we can appreciate the scenery.
With all the exercise and fresh air and complete blackness at night we certainly are sleeping well and haven't been disturbed by any animal noises.
