Another walk recommended by Tom with the possible reward of an otter sighting.
After parking the car we walked past the deer enclosure which also has a small deer museum. There was a wild stag outside the enclosure interested in the Hinds within. The stag inside was bellowing away to ward him off.
The museum was small but with plenty of deer artefacts which you were allowed to handle.
These antlers were from the same stag as he grew.
A lovely walk up to the river outlet into the loch.
Anything?
We sat very quietly for up to an hour eating our lunch but no otters came out - probably best chance at 6am or dusk.
After a quick look at a waterfall we made our way back for another stroll through the village hoping but failing to spot the eagles.
The ladies of the village had crafted poppies all weekend in the village hall and decided to display them already - I'm not sure how they will withstand the weather for the next few weeks.
We have really enjoyed our stay with Emily and Tom - a lovely couple and Tom reminds us both of my nephew Matt.
