Wednesday - Isle of Mull

Another sunny, clear day so we decided to climb Ben More which, according to the tourist info for Mull is;  "the only Munro on the western isles (except for Skye)" - why make a claim which needs qualifying?!! It stands at 3,852' and this was the view of the far off summit from the car.

It was a hard slog as the path wasn't well defined and the ground varied from slippy shale to boggy grass to boulders. At one point on the way up I was trying to climb up a rocky bit and slipped down a wet rock grazing and bumping my knee. My left trouser leg was soaked and covered in slime. But the view from the top and the sense of achievement was worth it.

After a rest back at the car we drove nearly all the way home but stopped for a quick walk to see Loch Ba.

  1. Ted Watts yacht before Jo was a Halberg Rassey named Ben More by the previous owner. When you called up on the VHF the answer invariably was please give the yacht's name not your name. I will tell Iris and Ted next week that you have bagged his Munro.
